NWC Library resources

The National Weather Center (NWC) Library maintains a collection that supports:

  • The research and operations of NOAA partners including the National Severe Storms Laboratory, the Norman Forecast Office, the Storm Prediction Center, the Radar Operations Center, and the Warning Decision Training Division
  • The education and research of the University of Oklahoma's College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences
  • The work of the various affiliated Research and Development groups.

For NOAA Staff, in addition to NOAA Library offered resources, the NWC library holds the following resources.

Physical resources

Physical holdings - books, print journals, technical memos, ect. - are listed in the University of Oklahoma Libraries catalog.  Users and visitors are welcome to browse materials during library operating hours.  Please contact Amanda Schilling about NWC Library lending policies.

Digital resources

Online journals, scholarly databases, and e-books are also available through the University of Oklahoma Libraries.  Users will need university credentials to access these materials.  Please contact Amanda Schilling for more information on accessing OU Libraries digital resources.

Archives

Historic and rare meteorological materials are housed in the NWC Library.  We are currently working to create a digital inventory that will allow people to search and browse the archival materials.  Until that is available, please contact Amanda Schilling with your questions.
